UndergraduateArtificial Intelligence for Engineers
Course Description
This course introduces students to broad topics in artificial intelligence for engineering students and uses data from the medical field as examples and use cases. Some of these topics are explored within their own courses later in the curriculum, like vision rand deep learning elated topics. The aim of the course is to give students a holistic overview of the field and some of its bio-engineering applications. The course begins with an introduction to artificial intelligence including its history and terminology. Students explore problem-solving using artificial intelligence as a searching, optimization, and filtering problems. They are also introduced to the knowledge, reasoning, and planning using AI logic. Uncertain knowledge and probabilistic reasoning are also introduced, for example through the use of noise in 2D and 3D data. Finally, students are introduced to learning from examples using machine learning algorithms as a prelude to the next course. While certain implementations
