Course Description
Credit Hours This course explains and analyzes the development of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), and their role in the aviation industry, as well as an increased awareness of the importance of UAS in modern commercial and military operations. Further, this course describes and categorizes the operation and application of UAS. An analysis of UAS is covered, including structural and mechanical factors, avionics, navigation, flight controls, remote sensing, guidance control, propulsion systems, and logistical support. Operations of UAS include an examination and analysis of their integration with commercial and military airspace, air traffic control and civilian/federal air and ground operations. The course will also look at past, present and future applications of UAS operations, with an emphasis on commercial applications.
