AVS 411 Co-requisite: AVS 435L This course provides a comprehensive study of the theory and principles associated with pilot assistant systems and flight automation. Topics include the basic design, function, and operation of Fly-by-Wire, Autopilot, Auto Thrust, Flight Director, Electronic Instrument System, Flight Warning System, Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System, Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System. Through simulator exercises, students will be exposed to the decision-making processes associated with the operation of these systems in flight.
