UndergraduateSignals and Systems
Course Description
This course will provide a foundation to other courses that deal with signals and systems concepts directly or indirectly such as communication, control, instrumentation, etc. The course covers the following topics classification of systems DT and CT systems, signal modeling and transformation, LTI systems, Frequency domain analysis and Fourier transform, Laplace transform, Z-Transform, and Discrete Fourier transform. Students will be introduced with basic concepts of difference between continuous and discrete time systems, signals and systems, transformations, and properties of such systems. The concept of linear time invariance (LTI) system and convolution will be discussed before moving to the Fourier Series analysis of periodic signals. Frequency domain analysis will start with the concept, properties, and applications of Fourier transform and then the same will be extended to Laplace, Z, and Discrete Fourier Transform.
