Course Description
This course introduces students to the study and practice of civil engineering; specialized sub- disciplines of civil engineering; professionalism and professional registration; engineering ethics; introduction to static and dynamic equilibrium; mathematical computing; exercises in engineering technical communications Water resources; environmental engineering; geotechnical engineering; foundation design; and transportation principles. Introduction to the concepts of engineering design in the hot and humid environment of the Gulf region. Sample engineering design project to understand the effect of contemporary issues on civil engineering profession.
