Course Description

course presents elementary analysis of deformable solids subjected to force systems; concepts of stress and strain; one, two and three-dimensional stress- strain relationships for the linear elastic solid; statically determinate and indeterminate axial force, torsion and bending members; stress transformations, pressure vessels, combined loadings; and an introduction to column buckling.
