Course Description

This course introduces students to the concept of load path and load distribution in structural systems; gravity and lateral force resisting systems with emphasis on steel and concrete buildings; structural systemsfor different types of structures such as cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges. The courses emphasizes classical and approximate methods of structural analysis for statically indeterminate structural frames; computer methods for analysis of statically indeterminate structures.
