Course Description

Completion This design course on reinforced concrete focuses on the advanced analysis and design of reinforced concrete elements. This course covers design topics that emphasize the design of reinforced concrete systems to resist lateral forces including earthquakes and wind. Computer models are used to assess structural response to lateral forces per relevant codes including but not limited to ASCE 7, FEMA, and IBC. A special topic is included such as strut- and-tie models.
