Course Description

main purpose of this course us to emphasize the fundamentals and importance of digital forensics. Students will learn different procedures and techniques that will enable them to perform a digital investigation. Students will develop an understanding of the fundamentals associated with the topologies, protocols, and applications required to conduct forensic analysis in a network environment. Students will learn data acquisition and duplication techniques using different forensic tools to acquire the evidence from hard disks and different file systems. Students will learn how to conduct computer, network, web, database, mobile, cloud and malware forensics. They will also learn the importance of legal considerations, digital evidence controls, and documentation of forensic procedures. This course will incorporate demonstrations and laboratory exercises to reinforce practical applications of course.
