Course Description

This course aims at developing the visual skills used by professionals in the built environment. The course offers an introduction to basic drawing and graphic modeling skills for architecture, interior design civil engineers and Construction managers. Instruction on two- dimensional visualization of the built environment and space will be covered. This includes technical as well as freehand drawing and representations. Basic 2d image processing software as well as basic 2D vector drawing software are introduced. Topics include: basic freehand drawing and drafting skills, orthographic projection, shades and shadow, paraline drawing, sketching skills, drawing and projection composition, Drafted and freehand drawing of actual and proposed environments is considered including analysis of light, shade, materials, textures and various contextual elements. Basic linear multimedia software are also introduced to students as a presentation and design communication tool. Educational enrichment
