Course Description

Studio) Prerequisite: DES 100 This is a foundation class in principles relating to all areas of design of the built environment. The course is designed to introduce the students to the basic elements of design including vocabulary, configuration, form and order. The classes consist of both theoretical and practical studio which is based on assignments, field studies and contextual study. The studio assignments and exercises are aimed to demonstrate an understanding of the use of a model for structuring design information, design process, research and communication skills.
