Course Description

course covers recent advances of today’s communication systems. The analog and digital transmission is reviewed at the beginning of the course. Consequently, advanced topics of communication systems are presented. The tentative topics include light propagation in special fibers, optical waveguides, slowly varying envelope approximation, group velocity dispersion, chirp, dispersion management in communication system design, optical amplification, and soliton signaling.
