Course Description

This course combines theoretical and practical aspects of teaching Information Technology. The course will prepare teachers to understand, use and apply a range of technologies and platforms in teaching and learning, in line with international standards. Students will be exposed to studies focusing on the ability to use common software applications, including word processors, spreadsheets, databases, interactive presentation software, e-mail, web browsers and website design and computer hardware. This course will provide opportunities to prospective teachers to develop greater awareness of human-computer interface and how applications are used in the workplace and consider the impact of new technologies on methods of working and on social, economic, ethical and moral issues.
