UndergraduateControl System
Course Description
This course is intended to introduce students to the concepts and techniques of classical linear control theory. This includes frequency and time domain modeling of linear time-invariant systems. Steady-state and transient performance analysis using analytical and simulation techniques is also covered. System stability analysis using Routh-Hurwitz criterion, root locus, and Bode gain and phase margins are introduced. Classical linear controller design in time and frequency domain is comprehensively covered, such as lead, lag, and lead-lag compensators. Moreover, students will be exposed to various analytical and experimental techniques to design PID controllers. Furthermore, students will become familiar with modeling, designing and analyzing linear control systems using MATLAB and Simulink.
