This course covers the energy consumption and conversion, solar energy and photovoltaics basics, sun radiation, semiconductor junctions, photovoltaic cell parameters and equivalent circuit, photovoltaic technologies, crystalline silicon, thin films, fabrication processes, photovoltaic systems, modules, series/parallel connections, irradiance on PV systems, maximum power point tracking, batteries, charge controllers, cables, photovoltaic systems design, stand-alone systems, load profile, grid-connected systems, solar thermal energy, solar thermal heating, concentrated solar power (CSP).
