Course Description
In today’s increasingly global business environment, Human Resource Management (HRM) plays an increasingly important role in supporting organizational strategies, goals, and tactics. The main goal of this course is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the main concepts, theories, and practices of Human Resource Management (HRM). Since the United Arab Emirates (UAE) workforce is very diverse and is comprised primarily of expatriates from across the globe, these fundamentals of HRM are taught in both the local and global context. This course makes a particular emphasis on fundamental local and global practices in relation to job analysis, job design, selection, recruitment, training and development, reward management, performance appraisal, and compensation. Particular practical emphasis is placed on recruitment a selection. Students will be asked to develop a recruitment and selection system for a UAE organization.
