Course Description
This course introduces the principles of game design with focus on video games. A typical game model will be introduced and many computer games will be evaluated based on this model. The course includes game development process, game platform and graphics. Students will design and implement a basic 2D game using Game Maker by YOYO Games under windows OS. In this course students will learn the history and techniques of game development including story development, game play, game content development, game programming, prototype development and game testing. At the end of the course, students will have designed a new game, developed the story board and implemented a prototype.
