Course Description

This course is designed for students with no prior knowledge of Japanese. The course aims at developing the four core language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing by focusing on basic vocabulary, grammar, oral comprehension, and hiragana and katakana. Audio-visual materials will be used in the class to familiarize students with Japanese language and culture through short passages or dialogues that are encountered in everyday situations. In addition, students will be engaged in various class activities that will develop their communication skills in Japanese.
