Course Description
This course is designed to provide students with a foundation on the strategic dimensions of the key business functions. The course is offered with an assumptions that the target students are experienced senior level managers, and are familiar with the roles and responsibilities of various functional units of business operations such as Finance and Accounting, Marketing, and Human Resource Management, and therefore this course does not teach students the operational details of these functional units. Instead, the course aims to provide a clear picture on the nature and complexity of various functional aspects, and their impact on organizational decision making at a strategic level. In addition, the course also intends to demonstrate the importance of research skills and the use of data for managerial decision making. This course provides an important foundation to the whole programme by helping students identify a suitable topic for further research.
