Course Description

This course is designed to give students the basic overview of all the areas and categories of special education. The course will provide an advanced educational knowledge base consisting of philosophical, historical, psychological, educational, social and legal foundations of special education and its programs. The purpose is to prepare students to work with students identified with exceptionality and research-informed teaching practices to support the needs of diverse learners within the inclusive classrooms and to further collaborate with families of exceptional learners to achieve optimum learning outcomes for all.
